The Reynoldsburg Track and Field team are striving towards another successful year in 2016 and are putting there best foot forward with a contagious optimism. Starting the season off with a positive outlook and strong-willed persuit, their past success has had its effect on this years team spirit. With last years mens varsity tying in 3rd at OHSAA Division 1 State Championship, and kicking off this season in 9th at OATCCC Indoor State Championship, another successful season is in sight. But as the team pushes beyond the limits, the wear and tear of funemental equiptment takes its toll. With an average of 12,700 injuries per year, track and field causes the 24th most injuries out of 34 sports in the NEISS database. On average, a single sport causes 25,880 injuries annually in the United States alone, and as of in 2014, over 16,000 annual injuries were reported. The most common diagnosis are strains and sprains, while most commonly are associated with the ankle. While many factors contributing to possible injuries, proper sports equiptment is a major one that is associated directly with performance and training. Developing skills with malfunctioning equiptment is an unnessessary difficulty, which is why the RHS Track and Field team have made it a priority to have proper support and training equiptment for there tenacious members.
